What Does This Mean?

Well, it means that you can rest easy knowing that your MFP is incredibly secure. The Common Criteria are a set of certification guidelines that ensure that information technology is in line with the highest level of security from U.S and Japanese governments.

 

The HCD-PP is a new designation under the Common Criteria that aims to protect copier and printer security from being compromised. The designation indicates that Sharp’s MFPs are equipped to maintain the highest levels of security and adhere to strict government and military regulations. This designation was developed through collaboration with the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) and International-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA).

 

JISEC, Japan’s IT security evaluation and certification system, is the independent laboratory that has designated Sharp with this security certification.

 

The following Sharp devices have received the certification: MX-2630N, MX-3050N, MX-3550N, MX-4050N, MX-5050N, MX-6050N, MX-3060N, MX-3560, MX-4060N, MX-3070N, MX-3570N, MX-4070N, MX-5070N, MX-6070N. What does this certification mean for users of DocuWare Cloud? SOC 2 is a report on controls at Service Organizations (like DocuWare) in the areas of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Each item has defined criteria which must be met to demonstrate adherence.

 

According to AICPA these reports are “Intended for use by stakeholders (e.g., customers, regulators, business partners, suppliers, directors) of the service organization to have a thorough understanding of the service organization and its internal controls.”

 

The five criteria used for the SOC 2 report are also referred to as Trust Services Principles. AICPA has determined these five principals to be most important to customers of service organizations that provide services such as DocuWare Cloud and other I.T.-related services.
